Information For SDA Participants
What does SDA refer to?
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) refers to accommodation for people who require specialist housing solutions, including to assist with the delivery of supports that cater for their extreme functional impairment or very high support needs.
Funding is only provided to a small proportion of NDIS participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs who meet specific eligibility criteria.
SDA funding under the NDIS will stimulate investment in the development of new high quality dwellings for use by eligible NDIS participants. SDA funding is not support services, but is instead for the homes in which these services are delivered.
Do I Qualify For NDIS Support For An SDA Home?
We are here to provide support for all participants interested in living in a SDA approved home under the National Disability Insurance Scheme. To help simplify the process, please refer to the below eligibility checklist to identify if you qualify. For any further questions, you may utilize our online chat, phone or email lines at any time.
Further Support For SDA Participants
There are a number of supports and services provided by government and the community sector for people with disability across Australia. The NDIS may identify that your supports are best delivered by these other service systems.
This page provides a list of organisations who can help with support, both nationally and in different states and territories.
The Agency’s Local Area Coordinators (LACs) and Early Childhood Early Intervention Partners (ECEIs) may also help with linking you to these services.
You can find LAC and ECEI partners in your area. Some other resources are listed below. The Agency’s Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) program is designed to support people with disability to live more independently and get involved in communities and workplaces. It gives grant funding that communities can use to become more accessible and inclusive. ILC provides you, your family and carers with relevant information, and gives grants to organisations to deliver activities and supports that you can get involved in.
Call us, chat with us online or send us an email anytime for assistance with any issue or concern, we are happy to help.
